The Mallorca Western Festival at the
„Feria de Abril“!
Top Western rider Grischa Ludwig presented the Western discipline
“Reining”.
Flamenco, Andalusia, horses – between April 25th and May 4th the
Andalusian folk festival, the “Feria de Abril”, took place
in the industrial area of Palma de Mallorca, Son Rossinyol. Thanks to
the 30 different booths the about 300.000 visitors were able to enjoy
Andalusian cuisine and hospitality. Also did the Mallorca Western Festival
booth, with country music and western decoration, ensure a Wild West atmosphere
which was very appreciated by the local horsemen and visitors.
At the set up horse riding field the audience was invited to watch
and admire various “Reining” demonstrations. To familiarize
the visitors with Western riding in general, dressage and especially
with “Reining”, top Western rider Grischa Ludwig paid a
visit to the “Feria de Abril” and gave a demonstration of
his expertise. Sancho Juan Stark presented the discipline “Trail”,
another form of Western riding.
Grischa Ludwig, ambassador of the Mallorca Western Festival, is one
of Germany’s most popular Western instructors as well as one of
the best Reining riders worldwide.
Of course he will also participate at the Mallorca Western Festival
2008 where the Worlds elite of Western riding will meet and compete
for the 3rd time. The two competitions “Mallorca Reining Trophy”
and “Mallorca Non Pro” dispose of a USD 170.000 prize money
pool which will motivate the competitors to their limits.
Instructed and trained in Germany, Sancho Juan Stark, who by now lives
on Mallorca permanently, already owns various trophies in the discipline
“Cow horse” and “Trail”. His mother, Sandra
Stark, a tournament-rider and professional trainer herself stems from
the pro-stable “Horseconnection” with Bruce Tamlyn.
